Stacy Kern-Scheerer is a dedicated Councilwoman, attorney, parent, award-winning professor, and community member who has lived in Williamsburg for 17 years. Stacy brings extensive and unique expertise to the City Council. She previously served the public for a decade as a nonpartisan legislative lawyer on Capitol Hill and founded a legal clinic during her 13 years as a law professor at William & Mary. On Council, Stacy is a steady and thoughtful presence, always willing to listen to City residents and work hard to address community needs.

Serving the community
Stacy’s commitment to Williamsburg shines through in her longtime, extensive involvement in the Williamsburg community. She has been active in supporting local nonprofits as a Board member and volunteer, and in championing public education as a parent and a Councilwoman.

A Williamsburg family
Stacy and her husband Jonathan came to Williamsburg in 2009, when Jonathan began his career in the Chemistry Department at W&M. Their son is a student in WJCC Public Schools. The family enjoys riding their bikes around town, kayaking College Creek, and hiking Lake Matoaka Trail with their dog Pepper.
